Midwest Premiere of Bella Poynton’s SPEED OF LIGHT

Nathan will be directing the Midwest premiere production of Speed of Light presented by Otherworld Theatre

Mayra Ecazin, a brilliant physicist, races furiously against time to unlock the secret of light speed travel and save humanity from alien destruction. The quest to get the machine made, however, proves more difficult than anticipated. Suddenly, everyone is interested in Mayra and her achievements, but their intentions are perhaps, less genuine. While nearby planets fight for survival, Mayra herself struggles for life due to a severe drug addiction that allowed for her great discovery in the first place. The clock is ticking, and all involved are working as fast as possible–but is it fast enough?

Otherworld Theatre Company, playwright Bella Poynton and guest director Nathan Pease explore the limits of the of the mind, and the sacrifices we make for a greater good.
